Fertility & You

Hope Grows Here – From Root To Bloom

Fertility Supported With Chinese Medicine

Rooted & Balanced In Joy

In the language of Chinese medicine, fertility is not only the ability to conceive—it is the full journey to carry a baby throughout your entire pregnancy, labor, birth, and arrival of a healthy baby (or more!).

It is the balanced flow of Qi and Blood, the rooted strength of Kidney essence, the nourishing rhythms of the cycle, and the quiet alignment between spirit and body. Whether you are preparing to conceive or navigating the complexities of reproductive challenges, I offer care that is both deeply compassionate and clinically informed.

This is a space for you to be fully seen.
To slow down.
To listen inward.
To heal at the root.

Board-Certified Expertise in Reproductive Medicine

As a Fellow of the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), I bring advanced, specialized training in integrative fertility care. ABORM certification represents the highest standard in this field, encompassing both Eastern and Western reproductive science. I work in collaboration with your medical team—whether you’re pursuing natural conception or assisted reproductive technology (ART)—to optimize your health, your cycle, and your chances of success.

  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
  • Unexplained infertility
  • Irregular or absent menstrual cycles
  • Recurrent pregnancy loss
  • Diminished ovarian reserve (DOR)
  • Poor ovarian response (POR)
  • Male factor infertility (low sperm count, motility, morphology)
  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and other thyroid imbalances

I understand that fertility is not a linear journey. It is often complex, emotionally charged, and filled with unknowns. My role is to walk with you—body, heart, and soul—through each step.

The Cycle Through the Lens of Qi, Blood, Yin & Yang

Each phase of the menstrual cycle reflects a dynamic dance between Yin and Yang, Qi and Blood.

  • The follicular phase is Yin in nature—cooling, nourishing, building. During this time, we support the growth of follicles, the thickening of the uterine lining, and estrogen balance.

  • The ovulatory window is a burst of Yang—transformative and expansive. We ensure Qi moves freely, the cervical mucus is clear and stretchy like egg white, and ovulation occurs smoothly.

  • The luteal phase is also Yang—warming, holding, containing. We support progesterone production, implantation, and healthy luteal temperature shifts.

I read your hormone panels in conversation with these phases, looking at:

  • Estradiol, FSH, LH, and AMH

  • Progesterone and the timing of its rise

  • TSH, free T3/T4, and antibodies in thyroid function

  • How these hormones express through the biphasic temperature charts, cervical mucus patterns, and overall vitality

Together, we track BBT (basal body temperature), cervical fluid amount and quality, and emotional/physical cues to uncover your body’s unique rhythm, patterns and story.

Preconception Care: Why 3 Months Matters

The research is clear, in both Western reproductive science and Chinese medicine, the months before conception are profoundly important.

It takes approximately 90–120 days for follicles in the ovary to mature before ovulation. This process, known as folliculogenesis, means that the egg you ovulate today began developing months ago. During that time, your body’s internal environment—your hormones, stress levels, sleep, nutrition, and circulation—deeply influences egg quality.

With Chinese medicine, we work to:

  • Support the growth and health of antral follicles destined for future ovulation

  • Enhance blood flow to the ovaries and uterus

  • Regulate hormonal signals from the brain to the reproductive organs

  • Prepare the uterine lining for healthy implantation

  • Balance Yin and Yang, and the smooth flow of Qi and Blood

This is especially important for those preparing for:

  • IVF and IUI

  • Donor egg, sperm, or embryo cycles

  • Egg freezing or fertility preservation

Ideally, we begin care three months prior to ART or natural conception, but it is never too late to begin. Every cycle is an opportunity to create better conditions for conception and pregnancy.

My Approach

I blend classical Chinese medicine with integrative, evidence-based care. Each session is tailored to your constitution, your diagnosis, and your emotional wellbeing.

My treatment plans may include:

  • Acupuncture to regulate hormones, improve uterine and ovarian function, and reduce stress
  • Chinese herbal medicine customized to support your unique physiology
  • Cycle tracking based on both biomedical and Five Element frameworks
  • Nutritional and lifestyle guidance rooted in Eastern and Western principles
  • Emotional and spiritual support through body-centered dreamwork, guided meditation, and Five Element seasonal alignment

This is not just about getting pregnant.
This is about coming home to your body.
Reclaiming your voice in the process.
And creating the conditions—inner and outer—for new life to take root.

A Note on Spirit and Conception

In Chinese medicine, fertility is also a spiritual threshold. Conception involves not only the union of egg and sperm but also the alignment of Shen (spirit). My work holds reverence for this sacred mystery while grounding you in evidence-informed, whole-body care.
