“When a tree dies, it is the roots that die first. When a person ages, it is the feet that age first.” ~ Ancient Chinese proverb
Region in Tibet Where The Herbs Are Grown
Most people think of a foot bath as a superficial treatment, but this technique is actually very powerful medicine. Serious conditions like peripheral neuropathy and high blood pressure respond rapidly to a hot herbal foot bath. The key is to treat the condition properly with the correct medicinal herbs, pure water, and hot temperature.
Soaking your feet in a basin of soothing herbal infusion is more than relaxing, it’s potent medicine. There are thousands of capillaries circulating the feet which serve as little highways of health to the rest of the body. It takes just a few simple tools and a comfy chair in which to enjoy the foot soak treatment.
Keeping to a Schedule
For chronic conditions, it is important to keep to a schedule. One treatment won’t fix the problem. Regular foot baths in conjunction with a routine that includes supplementary acupuncture and herbs, meditation or quiet rest, dietary changes, and exercise work best. It is advised that you use this routine with the advice of a qualified healthcare practitioner if you have a medical condition.
Some lifestyle situations that lead to the above conditions are:
- Walking barefoot on cold floors leading to Cold in the channels, especially the Yin channels
- Extended exposure to cold damp environments leading to cold extremities and low energy
- Poor diets of processed foods and sugar leading to Damp and Phlegm blocking the channels
- Stress that taxes the Liver and stagnates Qi in the channels creating pain and inflammation
- Injuries that create Blood & Qi Stagnation, which leads to pain and inflammation
